Tom ChuBorn in Taiwan, Tom had always been immersed in the popular culture of cartoon and comics, due to the closeness of Japan, but it wasn’t until Tom relocated to the U.S. at the age of 13 did he began to take interest in producing art in his favorite genre. Inspired by the artists who eventually formed Image Comics, Tom worked hard on his craft, and was even accepted to attend the Joe Kubert School of cartoon and graphic art in Dover, New Jersey. As fate would have it, the same day he received his acceptance letter, he had a chance encounter with an industry professional in the computer coloring department, his interest was piqued, and immediately threw himself into the world of photoshop, though it was hard in the beginning, and he had thoughts of quitting the field and go back to school for other career choice, Tom stuck with the job when he was discovered at a convention in New York City by Billy Tucci, the creator of Shi and the owner of Crusade Entertainment. It was there where Tom met some of the industry greats, J.G. Jones, Kevin Lau, etc. So even when Crusade closes it’s doors, Tom’s hope was high, as he smoothly made the transition over to the giant in the industry, Marvel Comics. Tom started out doing covers for Marvel, though then editor Ruben Diaz and Zena Tsarfin. Tom was provided with an opportunity to color the interiors of Deadpool and he seized the chance, which parlayed into a full time gig that lasted over 10 issues. Though Tom still stays up many nights working, he is glad that he’s able to turn his childhood dream into a rewarding career. PROJECTS: CRUSADE ENTERTAINMENT

Adrian Velez (AGE)Adrian Velez, (AGE, to his friends), was born and raised in the East Village in New York City. With such an abundance of creativity surrounding him, it was no wonder he developed in natural talent as a comic book pin-up artist. Picking up a pencil at 5 years old, Age has been drawing constantly, except when he’s drooling over his collection of action figures or playing with one of his 45 different video game systems, (an obsession that could very well yield a career with the amount of man hours he’s invested.) While most kids were moving on from comics, AGE realized that he could possibly do this for a career and kept drawing. Through his brother, his interest was stoked even more and after meeting and working with Louis Small Jr., AGE was well on his way to being a professional artist. Through Louis, Adrian was introduced to a comic book colorist/designer named Tom Chu and Tom helped to launch AGE in a career that includes logo design, book illustrations and freelance pinup work. Now, Adrian works with Color Dojo and continues to freelance. He is also working on a cartoon of his own creation which will be showcased on this site when the time is right. Check the gallery section for examples of AGE’s work. Or drop him a line here. PROJECTS: MADA DESIGN:

Michael MurphyMichael Murphy grew up on St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands, which is quite a lot like Carl Hiaasen's Florida - except being an island, there was no immediate means of escape. Island life inured Mike to weirdness which has no doubt served to inform the stories flowing out of his mind and onto the written page. Moving to the mainland to study TV/film production and publishing, he hasn't quite found the niche he's been looking for, but has always managed to land into a nexus of the bizarre wherever he goes (Buffalo, NYC, and SW Connecticut).
